Day 181 - Limes

I’m not happy with this, but I’m tired of doing things today, so I’m going to mix a drink and watch some television.

1) The glass I’m using is too thick, which explains the double reflections (most evident on the left-most lime). I darkened the shot in post, to reduce the double effect, but it’s there, trust me. What’s happening is that I’m getting the reflection from both surfaces of the glass… the other solution would be to shoot at a shallower angle.

2) I should have used a tighter aperture to reduce the blur of the rearward limes. I want them out of focus, but not quite as much as they are.

3) The lighting angles are all wrong. Both lights are two far off to the side; one should have been farther forward to fill in the dark strip on the front-most lime. I could have just moved the light, but that would have required going back to the shooting table, which would be more effort than I’m willing to expend right now.
