I imagine it’s probably less than 5%. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s lower than that. I also wouldn’t mind seeing statistics on how long people who end up crying uncle actually last.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been wrestling really hard with whether or not I’d be able to finish this thing. And after quite a bit of time spent on the subject I’ve decided that it’s over for this time around. I’m not saying I’ll definitely make another attempt, but I’m not ruling it out completely either.

This project has served it’s purpose and I feel like maintaining this thing for the rest of the year, in spite of my waning enthusiasm for it, would undo some of the good it has already produced.

Don’t misunderstand this as me walking away from photography… quite the opposite, in fact. I’m still going to carry my camera with me everyday, and I’m still going to make photographs as often as I can. The difference is I won’t be doing it out of some misplaced obligation.

13 Hours, 310 miles. Today was awesome in the oldest sense of the word. Tiho and I had a great trip. We didn’t end up where we expected, but we found an incredible spot which we’ll be returning to soon.

So much beauty in the world… so much.

I took tomorrow off and I’m heading to the bay with a friend. We’re leaving at 9 in the morning and I won’t be surprised if we’re not back before 10 or 11 tomorrow night. The plan is to hit the little villages around Kilmarnock and Irvington at some point in the afternoon…. but there’s a whole lot of road between here and there, so who knows what we’ll find on the way.

It’s going to be a good day.

This was taken Saturday afternoon just before lunch, which explains the horrible shadows in his eyes. He wasn’t too excited about taking pictures, so I just grabbed a couple of quick snaps without any sort of fill flash. Since we didn’t get a chance to do engagement pictures last year before the wedding we’re planning an anniversary session in October when the leaves begin to change.
